More than 2,000 students receive degrees at autumn commencement

Cheryl L. Krueger, founder of Cheryl & Co., will be the speaker for Ohio State’s autumn commencement, which takes place on Sunday (12/11) in the Jerome Schottenstein Center. Approximately 2,100 students will receive degrees during the ceremony, which begins at 2 p.m.

Krueger was the founder, president, and chief executive officer of Cheryl & Co., a multi-million dollar gourmet food and gift corporation, which she sold in 2005. She served as president since the company’s incorporation in 1981 through 2009.

Also during the ceremony, two individuals will be honored for their contributions to society and academics.

The honorary Doctor of Engineering degree will be presented to Zdeněk  P. Bažant, a world leader in solid mechanics research.

The Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Edgar W. Ingram III and Martha S. Ingram, who have worked to improve and enrich lives throughout central Ohio and beyond for many years.
