The spring 2022 semester ended with almost 22,000 students excelling academically at The Ohio State University.

As a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Navy as a radio operator Hal Hazelett had a love of country and fellow citizens. This is most evident by his wide variety of involvement in his community through education as well as civic and service organizations. These included his church, Boy Scouts, parent teacher organizations, YMCA and more. He went on to serve young people throughout his career with the legacy of higher education.

The new Foster Family Scholarship for Early Childhood Education will provide support to third- and fourth-year Ohio State undergrads studying early childhood education or the equivalent at one of Ohio State’s regional campuses in Marion, Lima, Mansfield or Newark.

Students in Senior English Lecturer, Amy Tibbals’ autumn English 2367.01S service-learning course ended spring semester by awarding three local non-profit agencies a total of $5,000 to support the work each organization does in the community as part of an over-decade-long project at Ohio State Marion known as Pay It Forward.

(Marion) One test plus 180 students from 6 local schools equals $13,500 in scholarship funds awarded at the annual OSU MTC Marion Math Competition held on the campus of The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technically College, Friday, May 6th. A total of 180 students from 6 area middle schools (Elgin, Highland, North Union, Pleasant, Ridgedale and River Valley) came to the Marion campus to compete.

The Office of Development and Community Relations at The Ohio State University at Marion is now accepting nominations from the campus and the community for induction into the Ohio State Marion Alumni Hall of Fame through May 15, 2022.

Students at The Ohio State University at Marion (OSUM) had the chance to develop their creative talents during a recent workshop offered in conjunction with the Marion County Federation of Women's Clubs.
On Saturday, April 9 at 7 p.m., the Marion Women’s Club will host a public reading of short plays written by students at The Ohio State University at Marion, in partnership with the JNS Theatre for Social Change, a New York City-based theatre program led by award-winning directors and producers.
