Assistance available for college placement test

Increasing ACT scores helps open college admission doors and increase potential scholarships   

To help students achieve higher ACT scores the I CAN Center of Excellence, non-profit regional college access organization, is conducting a six-hour workshop for high school juniors and seniors in Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Marion, Morrow, Union, and Wyandot Counties on Saturday, October 15, 2011, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the campus of The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College, Morrill Hall, Room 160. 

Cost is $45 in advance or $60 at the door.  This is a comprehensive, intensive ACT workshop offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an hour break for lunch.  Space is limited.  To take advantage of the $45 advance cost, pre-registration deadline is Monday, October 10th.

Michael Short, ACT trainer and tutor, will teach the workshop. He is a seasoned instructor who has mastered the ACT test, has taken the test dozens of times, and consistently scores in the 99th percentile. The workshop agenda includes reviewing the components of the test, understanding directions, stress reduction, quick ideas, general test taking strategies, specific test taking strategies and the opportunity for questions.
As students achieve higher ACT scores, they can expect to receive higher financial aid packages from colleges where they apply and also improve their opportunities for being accepted by their first-choice colleges.
