Marion Area Science & Engineering Fair
The seventeenth annual Marion Area Science & Engineering Fair was held March 17, 2018.

The Marion Area Science & Engineering Fair is affiliated with the Society for Science & the Public and is held at the Alber Student Center, The Ohio State University at Marion, in conjunction with North Central District Science Day.
The Marion Area Science & Engineering Fair has two divisions: a senior division for grades 9-12 and a junior division for grades 6-8.
High school students will compete in the senior division for an opportunity to participate in the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), to be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, May 13-18, 2018. ISEF participants will receive an all expenses paid trip to Pittsburgh for the competition.
Students in grades 6-8 will compete in the junior division for an opportunity to participate in the Broadcom MASTERS middle school program.
Students from Marion Area Science & Engineering Fair Win Awards at Intel ISEF
Both finalists from the Marion Area Science and Engineering Fair won awards at the 2017 Intel International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), held in Los Angeles May 14-19, 2017.
Sulekh Fernando-Peiris, from Mt Vernon High School, won a fourth grand award in Physics and Astronomy, worth $500. He also won a K.T.Li Foundation Special Award: A trip to Taiwan to participate in the Taiwan International Science Fair.
Mary Grace (Gracie) Murray won a scholarship to the University of Arizona, worth $12,000 a year for four years.
