Ohio State Marion Honors Application

Welcome to the Marion Campus Honors Application. We are pleased that you are interested in applying to the University Honors Program at Ohio State University at Marion.  Please read all of the following information carefully to ensure you understand how to access and complete the honors application.

If you have applied for Autumn 2014 admission as a freshmen to Ohio State Marion, you are eligible to complete the honors application; you do not need to wait for your freshman admission decision.  You must be admitted as a freshman for autumn semester to Ohio State Marion, however, for your honors application to advance in the review process.

Please not that if you have applied for Autumn 2014 admission as a freshman to Ohio State’s Columbus Campus, you are not eligible to complete the Ohio State Marion Honors Application.  There is a separate application process for admission to the Honors Program on the Columbus Campus and the other regional campuses.


Completition of the following steps is required for successful application to the Ohio State Marion Honors Program.

Submission due date:  June 15, 2014 at 11:59 p.m. EST
  1. The Ohio State Marion Honors Application has a section in which you will list and include brief details about your high school activities, service activities, employment, and awards and honors.  Please have this information readily available when you begin completing the actual online application.
     
  2. You are required to complete one essay as part of the Honors Application.  The essay has a 500 word maximum.  In advance of accessing the actual online application, please use a word processing program to respond to the essay question.  You will need to copy and paste your essay response into your application.  The essays are located in Section IV of the application.  Please do not forget to spell-check your work.

Essay A.  Part of the mission of the University Honors Program is to support and promote the intellectual and personal growth of high-performing, motivated undergraduate students.  What types of experiences have you encountered thus far that have contributed to your intellectual and personal growth?  Provide specific examples, and explain fully how these experiences have contributed to your success thus far.  How might being a member of the Honors Program continue that progression of success?

Essay B.  Tell us about a book that has influenced you, from any point in your life.  Rather than retelling the story, please concentrate on why the book influences you.
