A - Please note that students who want to earn credit through the Advanced Placement Program must have their official score reports sent to sent to the Testing Center, score recipient code #1592. Contact APP at 1-888-225-5427 to designate Ohio State University as an official score recipient. If your AP scores are in Math or English and are not reported to Ohio State in time for your orientation, take the placement exams as a back up. A - Honors courses (marked with an "H" on the schedule of classes) are designed for students who are looking for a deeper experience in a particular area. Honors courses typically require more reading and writing, but less memorization. The H appears on your transcript and shows future employers that you are someone who goes the extra mile. Also, when you apply to professional and/or graduate schools this shows that you have a real academic commitment.
Students with ACT Composite scores of 27 or higher are encouraged to enroll in an honors course during their first semester. Applications to be in the Honors program will be available to you once you are on campus during your first semester.
You do not need to be part of the honors program to take honors classes.
