Did you know you could be an Ohio State University student in Delaware County? The Ohio State University at Marion and the Delaware Campus of Columbus State Community College have an education partnership in which selected Ohio State courses are offered at Columbus State’s Delaware Campus. These are Ohio State courses, taught by Ohio State faculty and will appear on a student’s Ohio State record just as any Ohio State class would appear. A - If you plan to take all your courses at the Delaware Campus, your class schedule may include a combination of Ohio State and Columbus State Delaware courses. Once admitted to The Ohio State University at Marion, you will be mailed an orientation packet with step-by-step instructions and specific tasks you must complete prior to attending the required Ohio State Marion orientation program. As a degree-seeking Ohio State University student, all course scheduling will be done with the assistance of your Ohio State advisor. This includes scheduling any Columbus State Delaware courses.
Note: Enrollment in Columbus State courses requires minimum ACT scores or additional placement testing. A - If you plan to take only Ohio State courses at the Delaware partnership location, you can schedule your classes online from the Student Center when your enrollment appointment opens for the upcoming term, just as you would normally do when scheduling Ohio State courses at any campus. If you plan to take a mix of Ohio State and Columbus State courses at the Delaware location, you need to make sure you have applied and been admitted to Columbus State before any courses can be added. If you have never applied to Columbus State, you should apply as a “transient” student (link to CSCC transient application instructions) before meeting with your Ohio State advisor to schedule Columbus State courses. “Transient” simply means you are not seeking a Columbus State degree. If you had previously applied to Columbus State, you just need to have an active Cougar ID number in order to schedule for Columbus State courses with your Ohio State advisor. As a degree-seeking Ohio State student, you should always work with your Ohio State advisor to schedule Columbus State courses. This ensures your Columbus State courses will transfer and apply towards your Ohio State degree. Once you are an admitted Columbus State student, schedule an appointment with your Ohio State Marion academic advisor.
