Senior Honors Thesis

Research Thesis (Non-Honors Thesis, Senior Thesis, Senior Research Thesis)

A non-honors student who completes a thesis, whether in their major or in another department, will graduate with “Research Distinction”

  • If thesis was conducted within student’s major, student will graduate with “Research Distinction in discipline

e.g., “Research Distinction in Psychology”, “Research Distinction in History”, etc.

  • If thesis was conducted outside of student’s major, student will graduate with “Research Distinction”

e.g., a psychology student conducting a Senior Thesis in History will receive “Research Distinction”

Honors Research Thesis (Senior Honors Thesis, Senior Honors Research Thesis)

An honors student who completes a thesis, whether in their major or in another department, will graduate with “Honors Research Distinction”

  • If thesis was conducted within student’s major, student will graduate with “Honors Research Distinction in discipline

e.g., “Honors Research Distinction in History”, “Honors Research Distinction in English”, etc.

  • If thesis was conducted outside the student’s major, student will graduate with “ Honors Research Distinction”

e.g., an honors English student conducting a thesis in Sociology will receive “Honors Research Distinction"
